Series Spotlight - Asiatic Adventure

Born in Cameroon, studied software engineering in Germany and now London-based, Joseph Eta has experienced a wide range of culture. He is ‘inspired by different ways we live and communicate in diverse environments’ and, hoping to ‘just capture the world as it is’ in his photography, his travels around Vietnam truly encapsulates this unfiltered beauty that exists all around us.

Featuring perfect white sandy beaches, ships sailing amongst the clustered islands of Halong Bay and the iconic long wooden bridge over the Phu Ngan River, this astounding collection is reminiscent of adventure, of immersing yourself in new cultures, and relaxing in new and beautiful places. Eta’s photography takes an intimate peek into local craftwork, from terracotta pots to Ban Yen Nhan soy sauce production, from the vibrant and fragrant incense sticks of Quang Phu Cau to seas of woven fishing nets.

Eta hopes, in his photography, to capture the extraordinary moments that happen in every ordinary day and this breathtaking collection featuring everyday people in their everyday industries halfway across the world shows that what is beautiful to an outsider could just be routine to the people and places he is photographing; beauty exists everywhere in the everyday.
