Be Inspired - Bauhaus at 100

2019 sees the centenary of the founding of the hugely influential Bauhaus, a German art school that combined crafts and the fine arts, and was famous for the radical approach to design that it publicised and taught. The Bauhaus was founded in 1919 in Weimar by the architect Walter Gropius.  The German word Bauhaus translates roughly to “School of Building” but was founded with the idea of creating a “total” work of art in which all arts, including architecture, would eventually be brought together.  The Bauhaus had a profound, global influence upon subsequent developments in art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, industrial design, and typography. It’s modern and expressive ethos and style continues to inspire and delight us today.
