Artist in Focus - Janie Howe

 

Janie Howe is a self-taught artist, living close to Lake Michigan. The slow pace of life there is conducive to relaxation and painting, working predominantly in watercolour and gouache. She spends many happy hours walking with her dogs in the peaceful surroundings.

Her love of animals started as a child, where she could be seen, carrying around, her pet chickens and visiting the neighbouring farm animals. Janie's ultimate aim, is to evoke emotion, through her paintings, whether a smile or a feeling of being at one with nature.
